Looking for a new website - how do you choose the right web designer?
Not that long ago website design was difficult but during the past few years the process has become easier ... much of the functionality such as online shopping carts, are now in common use with well tested programme code being widely available.

However, many businesses are still being asked to pay 'silly prices' for websites - often believing that they are getting something unique. To highlight that point we recently presented a very detailed website specification to five Bristol web designers, the resulting quotations varied from £3,200 to £11,500 ... for exactly the same site. That variation in pricing also applies to web hosting, where the annual hosting charges, without support, can vary from as little as £50 to £750 per year for very similar hosting space and bandwidth.
The same applies to domain names. Buying a co.uk domain can cost under £3.00 p.a. or considerably more !

Don't get me wrong, I am not suggesting that Bristol web designers are bandits, the problem is that web design is an intangible, a service which businesses rarely purchase and when they do they often aren't clear about what they want to achieve.
